Anti-Copeland Flyers On Blvd?

Postby Insane_Pony_Posse » Mon Nov 07, 2005 12:46 pm

Did anyone see the "Copeland Flyers" being handed out on the BLVD this past saturday? What did it say? Was there a URL address on the flyer? Was it signed? Who produced this document? A friend told me that some flyer about Jim Copeland was being distrubuted on the BLVD and it was not pretty! I think Coach Phil may have saved his job this past Saturday.

No offense, but that's pretty f-ing tacky. If you have a beef with the man, take it up to him personally. I doubt he's above hearing suggestions.

I was there on Saturday and wasn't handed a flyer, but had I been, I probably would have given that person a piece of my mind.

It was MrMustang28937, he chickened out on the "face to face, piece of my mind, tired of this load of crud" confrontation with FIRE Turner & Copeland Copeland, so he went "underground" instead.....typical.

Why hand out flyers when it is so cheap and easy to buy radio time on The Ticket or CSTV :D

A FLYER? A FLYER? NOT A FLYER? ANYTHING BUT a FLYER!!!

Gotta be a Magicman65 gimick. Was it in the shape of a 1965 Texas license plate by any chance? Aaaaahahahahahahahahahhahahhahah! A FLYER!!!

Why don't you make a flyer out of this:

I pledge $__________ to the Mustang Club in an effort to support The Commitment.

Thanks a million!!!

I saw a copy of the flyer for about 30 seconds. From what I remember is was mostly an Excel spreadsheet showing
Bowl games for the past 10 years
Conf. Championships for the last 10 years.
NCAA Bball games for the last 10 years
a couple other facts about the last 10 years.

Yes, the answer was always 0.

I did not read the top and bottom paragraphs.

And Copeland was the focus.

I believe his statement, about 5-6 games as being what he wanted consistently, was the straw that pushed this guy to print the page.

I saw the guy, if that is any help and I do remember that I have seen him at other M-club functions but I do not know his name.

I see it as freedom of speech. None of us has a vote on any of this SMU Athletic stuff so, I just see it as someone making his point in the most far reaching manner he could think of.

HixsontoLevias-What is wrong with you?

YOU A**
IT WAS NOT MrMustang passing out those flyers about Copeland, and furthermore, what is your problem, saying that you are tired of this load of crud.
There are few enough SMU fans as it is, and you are blasting one that is a fan, concerned about the program, and by the way, he DOES belong to the Mustang Club and is a season ticket holder, so his money is where his mouth is.
Usually, on message boards, posters only blast those that are posting from opposing schools. What is wrong with you blasting a fan that is FOR SMU?
His reluctance to have the "face to face" with Calvin Watkins was out of respect for SMU and not wanting his personal opinion being the focus of an article. He knows the press and knows how they can skew what is said and did not want to leave SMU in a bad light.
HtoL - Put down the bottle and sober up before you post anymore on Ponyfans.

Get this thread back on focus.

WE all hate Texas - if we are playing them.
If not playing them - WHO Cares.

The talk about Copeland is due to frustration with the F-ball and B-ball programs along with his lack of exposure or notable achievments recently.

..."his reluctance to talk to Watkins was out of respect for SMU"....HUH? So how do you characterize his plan to get in FIRE Turner's face and Copeland Copeland's kitchen on game day? Respect for "his" university? His neat little plan to tell the President of SMU he is quote, "sick and tired of this cra*&!!", that is respectful, honorable, productive........I think it's classless, weak, sophomoric..and, I am simply telling MrMustang4982 THAT! Did you attend summer school at SAM and audit the same
logic class he did? Long Live Fred Benners.
