Props to TCU for winning MWC

Postby Sam I Am » Sun Nov 06, 2005 7:26 am

Our win over TCU looks even better after the frogs have won the MWC. That loss has cost them any hope of a BCS bowl this year. The surprising thing is that the MWC may not be as strong as the CUSA East. Having said all these things, TCU deserves a shout out for winning a title in their first year as a conferene member. After looking at the Big East, I wonder how they can continue to be in the BCS. If TCU can help break up the BCS cartel, more power to them.

Why are you so happy Frog? You have been mathmatically eliminated from the 2005 Texas State Division II 1A Championship. It's obviously a rebuilding year for TCU.

Here's why he's happy...

Postby ReedFrawg » Mon Nov 07, 2005 5:33 pm

...Top 20 BCS Ranking, Conference Championship, weekly Highlights on ESPN, probably our 3rd 10-win season in 4 years and our 4th 10-win season in 6 years, 7 bowl games in 8 years. I'd say there is plenty to be happy about in Cowtown! Good luck the rest of the season!

I'd much rather win the '2005 Texas State Division II 1A Championship' as Stallion stated.

Bum Phillips said it all

Postby Sam I Am » Mon Nov 07, 2005 8:48 pm

Bum Phillips said he didn't care if the Cowboys were America's team as long as the Oilers were Texas' team. Likewise, TCU can be "whatever" in the national polls; but winning the Texas Div. II 1-A title is what really matters most. Let Bennett win this title and we might have to carry himi off the field on our shoulders.

TCU has got it together. They have outstanding student support, good publicity and marketing, support of the community, good attendance at games, go to a lot of bowl games, and show-up in the national polls. Not bad for a Podunk school with a crummy stadium. Must be nice to think about where you might be playing your bowl game... at least they won't be at the washeteria.

Hey, I cheer for SMU every game except when they play TCU. I even went to the Baylor game this year, after going to the OU-TCU game earlier that day. I think I've earned the right to thrash a baylor fan, even on your board.
