Re: ESPN Radio Beasley InterviewWe seem to be pretty obsessed with Beas when it seems that he does not really acknowledge SMU hardly at all.

He's the product of a first-rate brainwashing. It takes a lot to undo that kind of damage. They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

Re: ESPN Radio Beasley InterviewIt was a good interview ... funny ... humble ... props to his folks.
Re: ESPN Radio Beasley Interview
Or maybe, being closer to the program, he knows more than you.
Re: ESPN Radio Beasley Interview
Or maybe he was just closer to June. #HammerDown
Re: ESPN Radio Beasley InterviewRight. The program.
Re: ESPN Radio Beasley Interview
Like all of June's sock puppets, he knows only what June told him. That explains why they so often repeat June's self-serving bs without a hint of objectivity. They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

Re: ESPN Radio Beasley Interview
Wrong. June was not the entire program. He just defends June like you do. But maybe he can explain why June ticked off so many high school coaches in the area that Coach Morris has had to do damage control. In fact Coach Morris has said that so much damage was done that he might never be able to repair all the damaged relationships that JouneJones created. #HammerDown
Re: ESPN Radio Beasley InterviewJune Jones didn't recruit. That's a problem. A big problem. There are other problems. He should have been released after the ASU fiasco. But the dude got us into the Big East by getting us to four bowl games. And getting us into the Big East made possible not only avoiding the Sunbelt 2.0, but it got us Larry Freaking Brown.
My point is have some balance, some rationality. Life is not all black and white. JJ was good in many ways and not so good in others. On balance, IMHO, he saved this program and did what no one else could have done. I will remember his time here fondly. Go Chad Morris.
Re: ESPN Radio Beasley InterviewWith the support June had that others did not I am sure other coaches could have done what June did without ticking off al large amount of Texas high school coaches that he ticked off. Even more telling is that when Bennett's players started graduating he started going downhill and his offense weren't anymore productive than Rusty Burns were.

Re: ESPN Radio Beasley Interviewis there anything on this topic that has not already been covered? The answer is no. Time to move on.

Re: ESPN Radio Beasley InterviewPonyboy, you do not urge being objective on June's accomplishments, you seek to justify his post-ASU fraud by supporting his assertion that the SMU administration made it impossible to be competitive. This has never been proven by any means. Nobody can point to anything of value except generic Chad Morris comments about asking for a commitment. However, without specifics, for all we know that could just be Morris trying to drive home the point that SMU IS committed, not that they had to change anything to be so. I'm glad you brought up Larry Brown. Let's not forget that LB came AND immediately improved recruiting during the June years, under the same rules.
