QRoss and SMU mentioned on ESPN

Postby MustangSally » Wed Nov 09, 2005 9:32 pm

Watching a game update of the Clippers game tonight, Q was second in scoring for the Clippers behind Elton Brand. He made a couple of nice shots and the ESPN guy says "And that's Quinton Ross from...(i guess he was looking it up)...Southern Methodist". Not the best press, probably showed how unknown we and our players actually are, but then again Q hit another nice shot and the one guys says "Quinton Ross again, and he's from..." pauses for the other guy who says "that's right, Southern Methodist"

Ok Im bored, but thought it was cool.

Maybe Darrell Arthur will realize that he doesn't have to go to a marquee program to have a shot at the NBA, and follow his cousin.....I can hope right?

I am very happy for Quinton and all SMU fans should be very proud of what he is accomplishing. I looked up his stats on the Clippers web site, and he must be starting. He is averaging 36.2 minutes per game and has an 8.4 ppg scoring average through 5 games. The Clippers are 4-1, their best start in 20 years.

Q has started all five games. Maggette played in his first game last night and will probably replace Q in the starting lineup, but Q will be the first guard off the bench. Either way, it is great to see Q getting quality minutes and producing on a very solid team.....a team that leads the West at 4-1.
