Perimeter defense = sadnessModerators: PonyPride, SmooPower Re: Perimeter defense = sadnessPretty good coaching to be able to adjust to that, huh.

Re: Perimeter defense = sadness
Yeah, the UCONN game was bad. Okay, I am crazy.
Re: Perimeter defense = sadness
You know, minus every single other ranked team that has played so far today and all. Michigan nearly knocked off Wisconsin. Davidson had to come from 18 DOWN to beat La Salle. Kentucky is still struggling with Florida late. ![]()
Re: Perimeter defense = sadness
Michigan, La Salle, and Florida would all donkeypunch ECU. Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: Perimeter defense = sadness1 FG by ECU in the last 7:23. Pretty good coaching on defense.

Re: Perimeter defense = sadness
Can you please be specific how he was out coached? I realize teams shoot a lot of three against us, but there is a reason - our interior defense is incredibly strong. Most teams, especially less talented ones, would rather take their chances by jacking up threes against us. That is really their only chance to win. If a team passes the ball around enough someone will get a good look behind the arc, and sometimes they get hot. These are D1 athletes. BTW, I hope you're kidding when you say that ECU is one of the worst teams in D1....they aren't very good major conference wise but they would beat many of the schools in the mid-major conferences. Re: Perimeter defense = sadness
Gotcha. So our strategy is let inferior opponents shoot lights out for 33 minutes and then turn it on? Sounds good. Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: Perimeter defense = sadness
What exactly do you propose they do? You act like we let them shoot 34 wide open threes. They could do absolutely nothing interior, we contested a lot of the threes they did attempt...and they still fell. You're acting as if we still lost. Get over it. We won a conference tournament game for the first time in nearly a DECADE. Enjoy it a bit. ![]()
Re: Perimeter defense = sadness
I'm happy we won. Always better to win than lose. That said, the bar for the program should be higher and we did not play up to what this team has set as its standard. There are no more games at Moody and the road only gets tougher from here. ECU is one of the worst D1A programs in the country. This should never have been close. Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: Perimeter defense = sadness
No they're really not. ![]()
Re: Perimeter defense = sadnessECU has an RPI of 232.
For reference, that's worse than Lamar, who is at 223. ECU is pretty bad and we should have played them better. Glad we won, but that was very stressful. ![]()
Re: Perimeter defense = sadness
They won two games away from home all season and one in conference play at UCF. They are terrible. Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: Perimeter defense = sadnessBeing terrible and being one of the worst programs in the country are two completely different things.
They had a hot shooting day and it still wasn't enough. We won, move on to tomorrow against a solid Temple or Memphis team. ![]()
Re: Perimeter defense = sadnessWow. If there was only some way to show the 2010 Mustang fans the entitled, spoiled little prigs we have become.
We're regular season conference champions. We've advanced in the conference tournament. We're a lock for a top 8 seed in the NCAA tourney. We're really considered a team that high seeds DO NOT want to see in their region. We won today. But the other team shot too many threes! Boo. Freaking. Hoo. They shot really, really well. And lost. Go Mustangs. Let's win again tomorrow. Stallion doesn't think I'm a stinkin' genius anymore.
Re: Perimeter defense = sadness
Back in my days the strategy was to win. I guess you would rather we did otherwise. Apparently you took SMU and gave the points. Should not do that at tourney time. All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
