DeChambeau Named To 2015 Ben Hogan Award Watch List
Junior Selected For Second Straight Season

DALLAS (SMU/FOG/GCAA) - SMU junior Bryson Dechambeau was named as one of 24 collegiate golfers selected to the 2015 Ben Hogan Award Watch List, the Colonia Country Club, The Friends of Golf (FOG) and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced today.

The most prestigious award in men's college golf, The Ben Hogan Award is presented annually to the top men's NCAA Division I, II or III, NAIA or NJCAA college golfer taking into account all collegiate and amateur competitions during the past 12-month period. The Ben Hogan Award Selection Committee, which votes during each stage of the process, is comprised of leaders in professional, amateur and collegiate golf.

DeChambeau was a semifinalist for the 2014 Ben Hogan Award, and is one of six juniors on the 2015 watch list.

"Like I said last year, it is an honor to be named to this list," DeChambeau said. "Hogan has always had a big influence in my life, stretching from work ethic on the course and in class. Hopefully this year I can play a bit better down the stretch and have a chance to win it this year."

DeChambeau missed SMU's first tournament of the 2014-15 season as he competed in Japan, representing the United States at the World Amateur Team Championships. DeChambeau helped lead the team to victory, then came back for his first collegiate tournament of the season at the Erin Hills Intercollegiate, winning individual medalist honors.

The list of 10 semifinalists, which could include individuals not on the current list, will be unveiled on Wednesday, April 15. On Wednesday, May 6, that group will be pared down to three finalists who will attend a black-tie banquet announcing the winner at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas, on Monday, May 18, prior to the start of the PGA TOUR's Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial.
