Keys to winning vs UConn

1) Drape Ryan all over boatwright (aka scrunchyface) like a cheap rug.
2) Every time they come down the court on O see number 1 above.

Thats about it. Their stick men aren't going to do much against our inside guys

A fast start would be very helpful. Keep the crowd down as long and as much as possible. They went friggin bonkers when Boat hit that first three about seven minutes in. TULSA had the chance to get away but didn't. I could see both frustration and exhaustion on the UCONN players faces. We need that.

ryan did a great job the last time we played them versus boatright on his initial possession, but after boatright gave it up they would figure out a way to get him through some screens and ryan had a tough time denying him after that. i think the key is once he gives it up don't let him get it back

Perimeter defense and turnovers. Its the same script all season. When we play strong perimeter defense and don't turn the ball over we win.
Back off Warchild seriously.

We just have to stop pryves and Hamilton from going off on us. Boats right is not good enough to beat you single handily unless it's close at the end. It is only close at the end if other players step up.

Also get Brimah in foul trouble early. That kid blocks everything. Get him out of there and the inside opens up big time for us.

MK and YM got to go right at him all day! If he blocks your shot, get the ball and go right back at him.

Getting fouls on Brimah is huge, but I worry about Hamilton, too. Ollie said he'll play more, and he's one of their 3 guys scoring in double figures, a slasher who can step back and stick the 3. Sterling or Ben Moore or someone needs to keep him from going off.

Hopefully the officials are even enough that we don't even notice them.

Sterling can take care of Hamilton (or BenE). Jumping him with a big guard is how you take care of that ala Phil Jackson (what he liked to do all the time).

The guy you have to worry about IMHO is Purvis. He's streaky as hell. Nic needs to run the Boatshow right out of the water (wear him out playing defense), Sterling can take care of Hamilton (at both ends and will have to match him rebounding-wise which I think he can) and our bigs need to get Brimah in foul trouble. But then you can't forget about Purvis popping out and getting hot.

Win the boards. Limit turnovers. Play tight defense and have the Bigs score inside.

If Boatright gets that scowl on his face that means he is about to flat out go off. Got to shut him down as best as possible especially towards to end of the game.
