Catholic 7 Knew What They Were Doing

Leaving was absolutely the right decision for them. Give them credit for knowing how the NCAA would treat The American.

American would be treated differently if catholic 7 were apart of it instead of Tulane and east Carolina.

Fine for us - can't keep you out if you win the conference tournament. Win, upgrade conferences

But the Catholic 7 had to leave first, before an American could even exist.

If only LB could learn to outcoach his opponents. But good on you for bringing up something negative on the greatest sports day we've had in the last 20 years.

Says the guy who was calling posters idiots this time last when who questioned if we'd get in the tourney.

But you would be making sense then, and that's not what this thread is about.

And some of you have serious reading comprehension issues. How is this a negative in any way on SMU? I'm making a case that the Catholic 7 made a shrewd move in bolting and taking the Big East name with them. They are getting the benefit of the doubt with the committee while The American is not. Somehow despite having the last two national champions we are still seen as a conference worse than the MWC in the eyes of the committee. Sad.

They (and we) would be in an even stronger conference had they not left.
