Re: Opening Linethey have a lot more fans then we do - its all just math
Re: Opening LineI don't get the line but I don't think it will move much. I do think this is a great betting opp bc I think we will win by at least 6 and likely double figures.
They're getting the benefit of hanging with AZ but not playing on the west coast with a team that really hasn't been tested is not good them and good for us. I think our top four teams are better than the top four in the pac 12.
Re: Opening Line
Wow.
Re: Opening Line
Did TCU get into the NIT? Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: Opening LineCare to back up your 'wow' with some actual substance?
I said top 4 not top 3. I do believe that SMU, cincy, temple and Tulsa on the aggregate are stronger than the top 4 in the pac12. AZ notwithstanding SMU is better than the rest. And ucla is worst than temple and Tulsa. Even the rpi has UCLa lower ranked than temple and Tulsa.
Re: Opening Line
No. Not sure how that relates to the discussion comparing PAC with AAC.
Re: Opening Linewhy do you think otherwise Reed? Pac was down this year.
Re: Opening LineDoing a statistical comparison, the only advantage UCLA has is on the boards. They are very good. We aren't a bad rebounding team, but they are one of the best in the country.
Outside of that, our scoring defense, 3 pt defense, fg defense, and fg shooting are much better. We also get to the line more than they do, and they foul a ton and don't draw a lot of fouls, which indicates a lack of athleticism. UCLA would finish tied with or worse than Memphis in our league. I would expect SMU to control the game and win pretty easily in the end, barring a spate of turnovers or something crazy happening. From a statistical standpoint, the line is low.
