Should we win the national championship, you can say you beat us twice like we did with UConn last year.

You need to go by RPI to remove bias. If Temple and arguably Tulsa had not gotten shafted that number would be 5-5. As it stands we were 5-4 against the RPI top 50. 13-6 against the RPI top 100.

It's not a natural rivalry, sure, but it's becoming a rivalry for sure. I respect the hell out of UConn, which makes beating them that much more delicious.

SMU endowment = $1.5B UCONN endowment = $395M

Seems a lot of Husky fans think the team should just bag the NIT. What morons.
They do have a fair amount of intelligent comment over there it's just really hard to find through all the bluster.

Well, since UConn doesn't want to go, and Yale beat UConn and got shafted, UConn should give up its spot to Yale.

UConn to some extent has been screwed by its FB program. Despite great MBB and WBB, they were left out high and dry by realignment. Staying in the Big East would have killed the FB program. But going to the AAC has weakened the BB programs. And they are geographically isolated from most of the other conference schools. That said, glad they are in the AAC. They bring instant respect to BB. They give a larger geographic footprint. And I doubt the AAC TV ratings would have been what they were if Tulsa and ASMU played instead of UConn.

You cannot blame the AAC for their current struggles. Memphis upgraded from CUSA to AAC and struggled this season. Temple made a lateral move from the A10 to AAC and struggled last season, but rebounded this season. SMU has managed to emerge as a national power with the move. I think more has to do with the sanctions from 2 years ago along with the retirement of Jim Calhoun. While they now have some good freshmen players, they really did not add great players the previous two seasons which would be sophomores and juniors on their current roster. I think winning the national championship will help with recruiting for this class.

Now that would certainly be an interesting development. It makes sense strategically. We would have The American, Big XII, and C-USA headquarters local - as well as some other smaller conferences I believe.
