Never does. I think he would rather the other team not have a chance to set up than setting up something himself

VCU just did the same thing and missed their shot to send to overtime. Announcer said he liked them not calling one

And I am not stating an opinion. I am not a basketball coach.

Ucla being out of timeouts in a close game down the stretch could have easily bit them too.

I have tended to be critical of us not using timeouts, but I have also seen us really need them at the end and been thankful we still had them.

We score like 80% of the time on offensive sets after a timeout. I was really surprised we didn't call one.

That said, I think there was panic. When the officials walked over to the middle, both teams thought the play was going to be reviewed and went to the benches. The officials decided not to review it and we were surprised when they started to blow the whistle to put the ball in play.

If you call timeout there without bringing it up, we have to bring it in from the baseline. Then UCLA Presses to slow the ball down and take it out of Nic's hands. If you take the ball up and call timeout, you get 4 seconds to run a play. I think that was the thinking of LB.
