Maybe it's too early for reflection..... My Dad who is my hero and is an SMU alumn ('49), freshman in the Mustang Band ('42), honored at the SMU football game in the 3rd quarter 2013, served in WWII and the Korean War (Lt jg.), served in numerous lay posts in the Methodist church, has stage IV prostate cancer, in hospice (but does have his mind [watched the game]), great husband and wonderful father says: It could be worse.....and it's going to get better

What a life he's had! Hope the team rebounds next year and goes on a deep tourney run so your dad can enjoy it even more.

This game kind of reminded me that the bad part of being good is that the losses hurt about 10 times more

Thank your father for his service in the Navy and thank you for sharing such sage words. So often it proves true that the most can be said with the least. So few words, but so much truth.

It sounds like he has been a terrific father. His experience and wisdom should help us keep this game in its proper perspective.
