The "it shouldn't have come to that" argument never feels right to me... it's like telling a guy that got mugged that it was hit fault since he shouldn't have walked down that particular street. Yeah, he could have walked around that run down house where the crackheads hang out but he didn't... that doesn't mean he deserved to get mugged.

I know that's not what you're saying but I've seen that enough today that I just had to get it out - the fact that we made some mistakes doesn't mean that we deserved the bad call at the end.

Did you miss the comeback run in the 2nd half? Did you miss how tight it was down to the end? UCLA didn't belong here, but they are a good team. They played up to their potential, and had a dude shooting lights out from the arc. Every time we had a problem this season, we were facing a team with a shooter that just went crazy. Well, there you go. And still had 2 shots to win it in the end. Didn't let the conference down...just disappointed ourselves because we could have played better.

No guarantees that SMU would have won even if the call would not have been made because a UCLA big had gotten the rebound right under the basket.

Nearly every game we have some dude shooting lights-out against us from the arc...I've stopped being astounded by it...it's become fairly ho-hum.

And yes, we let our conference down and lost its teams millions of dollars. Don't hate the team; hate the ending, but there is no doubt we laid a turd in a very important game for AAC. Our bad guys.
