Here's how you know it was a bogus callAll the facts are the same, but instead of Yanick, the UCLA player catches it in that exact spot and proceeds to dunk it. Do you think it would have been waived off? Absolutely no way. The reason is because the ball was so wide right and so low at that point that it would have required a "basketball move" to catch it and change its trajectory into the basket. It was most definitively NOT in the cylinder, not even close. And this argument that a few talking heads have made about you having to let the ball hit or clear the rim. Really? Did the alley oop get outlawed last night and we all missed it?
Re: Here's how you know it was a bogus callgreat point. You mean exactly like this?

Re: Here's how you know it was a bogus call
Could not agree with you more and that has been my argument through the two bottles of wine and my roolodex this evening!
Re: Here's how you know it was a bogus callAlso, if they don't make the call, nobody is arguing that the shot might have gone in.
Re: Here's how you know it was a bogus call
I made this exact statement in one of my many rants last night.
Re: Here's how you know it was a bogus callprecisely, it's no different than catching an airball
Re: Here's how you know it was a bogus callExcellent way of looking at it. What was Yanick supposed to do?
Shake It Off Moody
Re: Here's how you know it was a bogus call
Apparently let the ball go w/ under 15 seconds left while getting pushed in the back by Looney jockeying for position to tie the game off the glass.
Re: Here's how you know it was a bogus callI figured that if I went to bed, I'd wake up feeling better than last night.
Boy, was i wrong. Derail the Frogs!
Re: Here's how you know it was a bogus call
This one is going to burn for a long, long time. Maybe forever for the three awesome seniors who gave us everything they had in their tanks. Party at The Wopper!
Re: Here's how you know it was a bogus callTexas bites. Baylor sucks. As it was in the beginning, is now, and evermore shall be. Amen.
Re: Here's how you know it was a bogus call
Same here. I was hoping it was just a bad dream. No luck. SMU-12 NCAA appearances, 1 Final Four
2014-15 & 2016-17 AAC Men's Basketball Champs
Re: Here's how you know it was a bogus callI was thinking something similar. Except I was thinking if YM had just caught it rather than tipping it away. I don't think it gets called there either
Re: Here's how you know it was a bogus call
I feel worse today and have watch the replay over and over, finding as many different pictures/angles as I can....this ball was past the basket and was not going to hit the rim. Horrible call. Feel bad for Yanick, but we shouldn't have been in this position anyway. #Beat Clemson
Re: Here's how you know it was a bogus callpathetic call. no 2 ways about it. got hosed.
