Bleeding Red and Blue

That is billboard material

Edit: Of course I meant bulletin board. Put this picture in the locker room. Let the players know we care, support, and hurt when they hurt. This would make me play even harder.

My 8 yr old recorded the game so he could watch after school. I called him from work while he was watching and asked if he wanted me to tell him what happened..... I couldn't let him get kicked in the balls knowingly. He said "we lost didn't we?" I told him how and it's dead silence on the phone followed by hysterical crying.

My 12 year old son watched it on TV with me. He was almost in tears too, mouth agape, face contorting.
Meanwhile I was screaming at the TV, introducing my son to some colorful phrases.
Beat the hell out of anybody!

I saw that when it happened.

I've never cried from a sports loss though.

I don't really want my eight year old son doing any hysterical crying, especially over a sports score.

I love that he genuinely cares and has passion as an 8 yr old for something so much that it hurts. I love that he was crying and showing compassion for yannick when he saw another person hurting like that. I love that he wants to go to games and bond and spend time with me. So if you have an 8 yr old feel free to parent as you wish, but no need to comment on mine.

Great life lesson. Those of us who have followed SMU athletics for decades are a pretty tough breed of fan. Days like Thursday just make the good days that much sweeter is my philosophy.
