I've really tried...

Postby gostangs » Sun Mar 22, 2015 8:05 pm

But I can't shake this loss yet. To see where we would have gone had we 1) hit some free throws and 2) not been totally hosed - really gets me every time i turn on a game or check any scores or even watch the news. This really was our time. To lose heads up would have been much, much easier.

Bitter pill indeed.

What makes it worse is to think about how much applications to the school would have jumped with the possible Sweet 16 run that was setup pretty nicely.

Yeah me too.

Also hurts that all b12 is out too and we could have gone further than all of them. Would have been huge for our program. The stars aligned perfectly for us.

OU is still in it.

Spring game might help a little but still it was a difficult loss.

This loss is the kind of loss we will never forget, but I believe it will be easier to move past when the tourney is over. Everyone will be focusing on football and as far as basketball goes we will more
Than likely be put on most projected preseason Top 25 lists. Especially when we find out the sanctions imposed by the NCAA, we will be able to put this behind us.

Once that information comes out and we find out if anyone is leaving early, I'll definitely have an easier time putting the UCLA game out of my mind. Until then, it feels like everything is too "open ended" for me to feel comfortable.

I will be able to "put it behind me" when:

- LB announces he's well.
- LB announces he's staying here AFTER NCAA bullshite (whatever it is)
- Will hurt if MK leaves, but if Nic stays and everyone else then I'll feel "ok" (especially if we sign another quality big)
- I will be downright GIDDY if LB and MK stay and NCAA bullshite is minimal because that team will be nasty! (i.e. "nasty" in this context means "really good") and I'll be looking for a sweet 16 run and a monster 2016 class. :-)

kinda reminds me of the Holiday Bowl BYU loss...except we hosed ourselves in that one.

Its very much the same, one of McMahons touchdowns would have been reversed if they had instant replay, it clearly bounces off the ground.....
