Not if they are smart, and this is coming from someone who considers Josh to be a friend. He still isnt mature enough to be the head guy at a top program. He's a very personable guy, great recruiter, everybody likes him, and he has tremendous basketball knowledge, but he struggles under the pressure of being the decision maker. Just my 2 cents.

kinda agree that he would get a look, simply through his UT work...Memphis would be an interesting fit for Pearl.

I would be shocked, but very happy, if Gregg Marshall went to Memphis.

We have confirmed reporting by @EvanDaniels and @scoutrecruiting that Duke assistant Jeff Capel is ASU’s top target via a program source.

Leaving Auburn for Memphis? The folks on the plains would be furious!

Actually, going from Memphis to ASU would be more like a lateral move. While it is a bigger school in a bigger conference, ASU basketball doesn't get near the attention (locally or nationally) that Memphis does. ASU fans would be happy with regular NCAA tournament appearances rather than being upset if the season doesn't end in the Final Four.

I could see Pastner doing well at asu. ASU has very good "talent" to recruite with, there isn't a lot of pressure, and the pac-12 is the weakest of the p5, so his deficiencies as a coach aren't as likely to get exposed.

ASU is not an easy place to win in basketball. I don't think they will get a high profile head coach to go there.

I'm sure three years ago most said the same thing about SMU.

True but LB feel into our laps after Orsini was turned down by a few. I don't think anyone is going to fall into ASU's lap. They have already contacted Jeff Capel. Not exactly a high profile name.

Capel had a couple of good years at Oklahoma, they made the Elite 8 in '09. And he signed alot of major talent, but a few injuries and an NCAA investigation put the whole program into a downward spiral, and he wasnt able to pull out of it. I don't know what you consider high profile, but he's a known name who took 2 different schools to the dance. There are coaches getting hired with worse resumes.
