Ponyfans has never been a great source for advice on great food. Expensive restaurants in park cities/uptown/oak lawn/downtown with excellent social scene, yes. Food, no.

I'll always remember the raving on here over the years for first Manny's and later Ojeda's. Both are one culinary step up from El Fenix.

I agree that manny's pretty average. I like Mia's or rafa's for tex-mex.

I'm not a reliable source either as i dont get out enough tgese days to sample. However, on the subject of Mexican food I've always liked La Familia in Fort Worth. I also really liked the Mexican place on Alpha across from the gallaria just past container store but it got bought out and changed so maybe I just have no taste

Mia's is always great - Rafas is horrible. One of the only places that can screw up Mexican food.

Manny's is great. Like their menu. You can get breakfast all day if you want and their just nice people.

What's better? There isn't an alternative upscale Mexican option.....

I ate at a Mexican restaurant in Northpark Mall a few years ago that I thought was very good. Seemed to be more upscale than I am used to but then again I am from Arkansas.
