My post was aimed at, hopefully, assuaging concern about Nic returning next year rather than doing the graduate transfer thing, as some have rumored on these boards. After the game on Thursday, as I was finishing up dinner next door to the YUM Center on Thursday, Nic's long time girlfriend approached me to thank me for my vocal support during the game, and suggested that I stop by to say hello to some of the guys who were having dinner with their families on the other side of the restaurant. I chatted with her and Nic for a while, and learned that she would be moving to Dallas in June to start a job as a local high school English teacher and cheerleading coach. While I did not ask the question directly, and I could be wrong, this led me to conclude that Nic isn't going anywhere next year.

I did say to Nic that he needs to work on MK to make sure he's back next year so we can go all the way to Houston, and he laughed and said that MK "needs to" stay, and that a "home game" in Texas for the Final Four would be great.

I hope I am not violating any confidence, but I don't think so, since both were friendly and open. I also spoke briefly with Sterling, and told Ryan and Cannen how proud we are of them despite it
despite the season's heartbreaking ending.

When Couchem said to take it to the pay site I believe he meant post that info on the pay site so it will not get deleted so quickly. Smusportspage misinterpreted what Couchem was saying.

Diamond M - I have long been a fan of your posts. Especially your knowledge of the band
in addition to sports.

Thanks for your latest input. It focuses attention on Nic staying and I think you are right.
A long-time girlfriend can have a strong magnetic pull. I think it is accurate to say that
Craig James came to SMU for a couple of reasons, but the most important was that his
girlfriend was here. We could probably start a thread on the players who came to SMU
because a girlfriend was here.

Wow, I apologize if I am the one that got it deleted. That was certainly not my intent and would be a first for me. I am confused as to what I posted that got the thread deleted?

Something that Nic said to me did sting a little. He asked about my affiliation with SMU, and I told him I had graduated in 1994 and played in the band, and have been in Moody all these years through the good and the bad. He paused a minute, said "hmm, in 1994 I was 2 years old." Ouch.

Haha. I graduated from SMU three years before Nic was born. Double ouch.
