Watched the better part of 4 Texas games this season on TV. Turner never took over or dominated in these games. He got limited playing time and picked up some limited points and a few rebounds. Announcers talked about that dreaded word "potential" on occasion. I did not see a kid ready for the NBA. I could see him picked up late in the first round by a team like the Spurs who do not need immediate help and can give him the time to develop. I would like to hear what his agent and entourage are telling him.

ESPN just reported that Miles Turner is a top 10 prospect . Also said that he led the Big 12 in blocked shots.

If he isn't NBA ready (and he isn't) if he is not productive his first 3 years, he cost himself a lot of money on that big 2nd contract instead of developing his game for 2-3 years where he will be NBA ready from day 1. This isn't unique to Turner, so many guys leave to early as the NBA draft is about potential not production.

Regardless, he would make plenty on the first contract to cover any scholarship "benefit" he received from staying in college. It's not like that door has closed to him. And he can do a lot more to develop his basketball game outside of the NCAA umbrella than underneath it. Any player that will go in the first round of the NBA draft should jump. Questionable second round guys have a slightly tougher decision to make.

Texas freshman Myles Turner will enter the NBA draft as expected, announcing decision on his Twitter feed (@Original_Turner).

Smart move. Lottery pick, possibly top 10. No brainer. Nothing good to be gained by coming back, only more chances for your weaknesses to be exposed.
