I believe we will start the season ranked, again. Crazy to think this will be the 3rd consecutive year we've been ranked. I'm not sure how I would've reacted five years ago if someone came up to me and said SMU Basketball will be ranked in the top 25 in 2013-14, 2014-15 & 2015-16. Now it's time to make some noise in the tournament. We've gotta let the UCLA game go and continue to move forward.

Also, Nic and Markus should be preseason candidates for NCAA player of the year, and definitely All American nominees. There will be a lot of quality on next season's team, and we will not rely on one player.
SMU-12 NCAA appearances, 1 Final Four
2014-15 & 2016-17 AAC Men's Basketball Champs

We go deep next year. And it will end with disappointment. Like, a sweet 16 run but a very close possibility with a run to the final four but something bad happens and we lose in the round of 16 (like a double OT game or something). At the time, it will feel devastating but it will be crazy progress. - ojaidamus

My expectations are crazy: AAC champs and sweet 16.

If you're selling crazy, put me down for a big order.

Screw that.

I hope every player on our team holds onto it and uses it as motivation.

If it motivates you, sure use it. If I were playing it would not motivate me one bit. Sometimes you just gotta move on.

Lets reserve any predictions until Oct and see what we are working with. No info, just too many unknowns

If MK and Nic are back then we should be a Top 15 team. Lots of scoring help coming in next year

quite a bit of our success this year was rebounding. Tolbert fills one of those holes but we need the other won filled - still need a really big dude to help us out on the post rotation, and lets face it - we are never out of the woods on future academic issues - so having a spar post or two is always a good idea. Guard play will be better. Right now, post play is a net loss - but i have a feeling we get something done in the next couple of weeks. Pretty strong selling point to be 6-10 and step right into what could be a sweet sixteen team.
