Sort of SMU Basketball related....

Postby smusportspage » Thu Apr 02, 2015 9:54 am

Ryan Manuel's little sister Simone Manuel broke several American and NCAA Women's swimming records over the past few days swimming for Stanford. Pretty amazing, she is just a freshman.
50 Free - 1st place
100 Free - 1st place breaking the American and NCAA record
4X100 Free Relay - Anchored the winning leg which broke the American and NCAA record
4X100 Medlay Relay - Broke the American and NCAA record
200 Free - 2nd place
Big brother Ryan should be very proud.

yeah, there was a blurb in the media notes before Senior Day about Ryan and his sister both possibly competing in the NCAA tournaments at the same time.

Their parents did a heck of a job raising both their children.

Doherty was not a very good coach, but I have to give him credit: He recruited a lot of quality people.

give a little credit to Doherty, but LB did so much more for these guys. Doh just couldn't coach. we're spoiled now.

Good for the swimmer!

I hate Stanford though for different reasons.
They had some girls in track that were drugs cheats and they'd get angry out on the track in their pro careers. It was so obvious.

I hope that someone who follows swimming closely will comment, but maybe she will be in Rio next summer. Certainly with this prompt and the fresh memory of Ryan I will be looking for her name on the US team.

Congratulations to the Ryan and Simone and to their family.

Yes, barring injury or the like, she will be there.
