We Would beat them 8 times out of ten - and we have a brighter future than them for the foreseeable future.

We are a better team now but I don't think you can guarantee we will be in the future. They have two very highly ranked 4 stars in this year's class, plus Soso Jamabo the all world RB from Plano East who is a football recruit but will play hoops, and he's great at hoops, too. In 2016, they have 5-star Lonza Ball, the #9 player in the 2016 class, already committed. Comparing us to UCLA is a little unfair. They are one of the top 5 college basketball programs of all time. They only play football to pass time until basketball season.

LOL, they stunk this year, still 'sorta' beat us and had better athletes all over the floor. Other than that, we're better than them

That is mainly on the depth of SMU. Starting five is a bigger argument.

Looks like Tyson Jolly is another player they are making a run at. SMU is really going any direction away from Dallas it can. Given the recent headaches, I don't blame them.

What 2015 player in Dallas is available that could help us?

Wonder if he is related to the Tyson Chicken ranchers. If so, he would be Tyson Jolly rancher.

I'll take their program over ours. They are coming off of back to back appearances in the Sweet Sixteen, three consecutive appearances in the NCAA tournament. No worse than a 4th place finish in the last three seasons. Have put multiple players in the NBA the last few years.

Have you seen their campus?

It might be the one place I'd be forced to admit the scenery (both alive and stationary) is better than ours.
Just last week I popped in on tennis practice and then track practice. Damn that I couldn't find cheerleader practice.

To me that is the best campus in the country.

I have no understanding based on track record and actual TALENT how anyone thinks we beat UCLA 8 out of 10 times.

Especially since, well, you know, we lost our most important game in 22 years to them.

UCLA has 2 first round draft picks on their team right now in Looney (lottery) and Powell (late 1st). Their bigs are one of the teams that can completely neutralize the advantage we have in the post against most teams. Pick your poison on who Nic defends (as we saw) with Alford shooting over him or Powell taking it to the rim at will against him. They bring a long 7 foot McD AA off the bench...Hamilton and Sterling are probably a wash.

They finished 4th in a league where the bottom has much tougher road games than Tulane, Houston, ECU, USF, UCF...

Please tell me how we win 8 out of 10 against UCLA. i would say 5/5 is reasonable with them being a more talented team overall. Our biggest advantage would be our depth and getting them in foul trouble.

Yep, agreed. Too bad USC isn't there. It's odd USC, the private school, is in 'the hood' and UCLA, the public school, is in a very nice place. (and, yes, I've been on both campuses . . . of course, Pepperdine has them both beat ha ha.)
