Truth!
or simply make them accountable in a format that is transparent, and reviewable. Have a review process (post facto) that penalizes the official in future NCAA games by exclusion for a year. The happy "oops, sorry" version that we got, and that UK will get for the clock violation is not acceptable in a tournament that bills itself as the pinnacle of collegiate basketball. That said, no one is perfect, and every ref will miss calls...I remember one ref who booted a call in my high school game look me in the eye when I fussed and say: "i'll get 'em all right when you make all of your shots. Deal?" Kinda shut me the heck up right quick. Wisconsin won by fundamentals...good on them.

I haven't watched a second of the NCAA since the SMU game. I do believe the officials were crummy at best. And I have mentioned more than once that the AAC refs have been on general and non partisan terrible.
I watched Wisconsin and Kentucky and the officiating is so atrocious that one wonders if the game is real or some total cluster monkey frick! Honestly, the NCAA has to do something about its officials. I could care less about the final four and will not watch the championship game cause I don't care and I know the atrocious NCAA officiating will be a key component of the outcome.

I think the calls evened out. I think without a doubt Wisconsin deserved the win. Kentucky simply didn't hit their shots down the stretch. Really nothing' to [deleted] about. They got beat

Anyone remember the end of the Oklahoma football 47 game winning streak? IIRC Sports Illustrated had a pregame article about OU continuing to win indefinitely. The Kentucky hype before this game was maybe a little similar, and with some reason.
I don't remember that the officials were blamed for the ND victory in 1957 but may have that wrong.
I am sure that BB officiating could be improved via replays, etc., and should be for at least the Sweet Sixteen, if not the entire tournament although I suppose the argument against is expense for many regular season games. It is a shame though that nothing is done when so much evidence exists that the officials got it wrong.
I did not care about Kentucky or Wisconsin either one, or about the the outcome of the championship game.

Derailing the thread a little on the subject of officials, did everyone notice the female official that did some of our games in CUSA has been promoted to the first NFL female official? I am glad it was her rather than that little short guy.

Evening out 'bad' is still a zero sum game, no matter how the teams play. On, Wisconsin.

That's what I think as well. They missed more than a few calls both ways. Wisc dominated the glass and Cal letting the Harrison's do whatever they want when they want to, vs feeding Towns every possession, cost them.

How is derosa (the ref we had against tulsa at moody) able to ref this game? He is the worst in the league

Would love to see if Wisconsin had double the fouls of their opponent in any half this season.

As happy as I am, I'm also bracing myself for the "goal tend"* to be in "One Shining Moment." Should've been a Duke-SMU regional final. I've already said on here who I'm for when that happens.

Do believe the only team seemingly not included in that montage was SMU. WTF?!
