We're in a really good spot here. Would be surprised if he choose anywhere else.

BTW, not questioning this coaching staff at all.
Just tells me they are very high on him.

Just thinking out loud on what we might be rolling out from a skill position perspective in 2017:
QB Ben Hicks/David Moore
RB Xavier Jones/Daniel Gresham
WR Courtland Sutton
WR Xavier Castille
WR James Proche
WR Kevin Thomas
TE Hunter Herndon
That's not including guys we will be adding in the two upcoming recruiting classes. If we can start to get some depth and talent on the offensive line we will be poised to have an explosive offense in the coming years.

Back off Warchild seriously.

which in light of the One Who Shall Be Nameless failure to provide an explosive offense, would be a really cool thing to watch.StallionsModelT wrote:Just thinking out loud on what we might be rolling out from a skill position perspective in 2017:

He lives nearby and his HS is just a few block away. Here's hoping he picks SMU!

Regarding the "nameless" one mentioned above:
The number of SMU fans who remember the Chalmer Woodward years (1953 - 1956) can't be large. He was perhaps the worst case ever on the Hilltop of trying to find lightning in a bottle and on the cheap. IMO there could be a real debate as to who was worse for SMU football - Woodward or Jones - especially since so much money was thrown at the latter, and for a longer time.
Those remember the SWC in those days might agree there was at least one worse coach in Texas - the BB coach at Rice. Maybe that's a consolation to the shades of those persons who decided on Woodward.
A funny thing is, Woody Woodward had another coaching gig after SMU. It will absolutely be hilarious if JJ is employed again.
If there is an amateur astronomer on this message board, please tell us what (lucky) star shines over Tempe but not University Park.
And I can only repeat that I do hope David Moore will sign with SMU.

Love the Woody Woodward reference, which proves there is no time limit when discussing incompetency.
Had to look him up, but funny thing is, as bad as you make him out to be, he would have qualified for 2 bowls during his 4-year stay at SMU (using tiki math of course).
Hmmm, 2 bowls in 4 years. Rather than criticize him, ever thought of raising $ for a statue of Woody.

Back to Moore . . .
From all accounts, we definitely want him and he seems to be someone who can redshirt and learn and "thicken up" a bit. Sounds like he's a bit better passer than Davis at the same stage and more athletic than Hicks but not as polished as Hicks quite yet. A couple of years in the program and he might be "that guy" in a few years. Best I can gauge it anyway. So, a very solid pickup. Not Tristan Wallace, but solid.

Sounds like a much better arm than Wallace and many think he's about to blow up. Could easily be a 4 star as well if he has a big year. Could just as easily end up being the better college QB.ojaipony wrote:Back to Moore . . .

This is exactly the type of kid Morris needs to evaluate correctly and steal from the P5.
