Morris recruited Georgia and Florida heavily for Clemson. He will continue to use those contacts for blue chip prospects. SMU will be a good option for those kids that are left out in the SEC/ACC game of musical chairs.

That is what Moore told me. Obviously I cannot be in the room when the coaches talk to a prospect.ponyboy wrote:True. The writer Bud Elliot posted here this afternoon. Maybe he can clarify. I'd love to think you're right, Rebel. Just going by what I read.Rebel10 wrote:He may have just drawn a conclusion based on conversations with Moore when he was asked not to take visits. SMU scored a major victory Thursday as Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton High School QB David Moore committed to Chad Morris and Co. over the likes of Utah, Oregon State, Illinois and Houston.Bud Elliott wrote:Hello,

Moore is 6'2, athletic and has a strong arm. As Moore told SB Nation during our month of following his visits, SMU had advantages: he lived in Dallas for four years, and SMU's new staff was recruiting Moore when at Clemson in 2014.
The three-star had planned to commit in late May, and was considering moving his timetable as power schools began to send offers.
But things changed when he saw Wake Forest, a school he really liked, accept a commitment from another QB. He worried spots were drying up. And he got wind of a rumor that another QB was going to grab the spot at SMU, which went 1-11 in 2014.

Jameis Winston wasn't shaving points against Louisville
By Bud Elliott  @SBNRecruiting on Nov 7, 2014, 3:32p 251
A ridiculous story was published recently, by a website that I refuse to link on principle, claiming that Jameis Winston was shaving points in the first half of the Louisville game to help out a high school friend over a few thousand dollars. All that you need to know about the author(s) of the story, who made previous unsupported claims about Clemson QB Tajh Boyd's gambling, is in the link. They aren't reputable in any way. The only reason I'm writing this is because Fox Sports and TMZ have discussed the story.
A review of Winston's play shows a number of examples in the first half where he made exceptional plays -- plays that he could have easily not made if he were, you know, shaving points.
Winston's numbers in the first half were quite poor: 10-22 for 123 yards with two interceptions. He also had twenty yards rushing. Winston did not have his finest first half, to be sure, but he also got little help from his offensive line (playing with a backup center, and injured left tackle, right guard and right tackle) and receivers.

From what I know, Moore has to get/keep those grades up and has a "team" working with him to do so. Hope we keep him; Milton would be an excellent pipeline to open
