I believe he was. Either way, Texas has been out recruiting their on-court performance

Be interesting to see if they actually hire another sniper or start to mobilize the tandem of Hobbie/Jank more. I know this, if the NJ Roadrunners have anyone worth a darn, Sandy Pyonin will give Hobbie and LB a ton of consideration

I hope so, after watching the tourney this year, I was amazed how many teams had good shooters in the Sweet 16. Pretty balanced. This years Wisconsin or Duke would have beat up UConn pretty good.

I would agree DC is a tough place to recruit with ACC, Big East and now Big Ten lurking around. However, the good players are mostly coming out of the WCAC which are all Catholic prep schools, plus some IAC which are the protestant/non-sectarian prep schools. Thus, these kids would not have academic issues. Assuming the one and dones are going to start going pro (like to China) especially if they can't play as freshmen, then you need to go after solid tier 2 players with good academics. That's where DC might be a great place to recruit.

Much of our want to recruit DC these past years comes from Ulric who went to Howard. Great area and we do get our share of kids in the regular student body from DC, just can't be a hoops stomping ground.

#SMU has not renewed the contract of assistant Ulric Maligi, a source confirmed with me. Maligi took a leave of absence in January.
