stumbled across Texags.com tonite and that place is in total meltdown about changes approved by Board of Regents 1. changed the traditional block T on the school seal to a block ATM 2. naming of the Flag Room(?) 3. (my favorite) naming the columns on Kyle Field (why didn't we think of this???) http://www.thebatt.com/news/a-m-seal-ch ... adfd9.htmlI'm serious they are organizing to run out the entire governing body of the university out. THEY WANT THEIR ATM BACK!!!! Its a typically hilarious Aggy Meltdown with 19 threads about Seal-Gate on first page. CULT! http://texags.com/forums/5Save the Seal: http://ndla.no/sites/default/files/images/seal_hunt.jpg

When I read the title of this, I assumed it was about Ricky Seals Jones. This is much more... interesting

I kind of think the students are correct on this one. No need to brand consist a seal - it's used on letterhead, diplomas and rings. It's supposed to look different. The new one looks cheapened to me.
Also naming a flag room which was created to honor military individuals for a person is a mistake, and also not needed. Let them name a tree or something if they need their name on something.
Love to make fun of the ags as much as the next guy, but they are right on these issues. Also, you have to give them credit for [deleted] on bevo and grabbing a better conference. Hope we can some day do the same.

This quote from the article sums up Aggie thinking on a lot of matters:
“I came to this school because ... I felt like the culture and traditions were frozen in time,†Weger said. “Nothing or anybody could change them. And it’s what made A&M so different. It’s what makes us special. And so, sure, a lot of people are going to complain saying, ‘Oh, it’s not a big deal,’ but it is a big deal.â€

Being an Eagle Scout, I'd tend to agree with that.

From a recent student or grad I guess. Although I tend to side with the complainers none of these changes seem very big compared to admitting women and the student body all being in uniform except for a few non - reg upperclassmen.
