if he ends up in Kentucky maybe its the right decision. Those big 12 programs are no better than ours. Kansas was about as unimpressive as anyone last year, and UT sucked all year. We need to get over our inferiority complex.

He decommited because he might get the qualifying ACT score and some big time programs want him this year. SMU had a good one for a while.

Still hope we get him - I love taking the best out of M town since they don't go to Tiger High anymore (see JW3) as they know that program's [deleted] now and SMU's IS the [deleted].

Why are you taking shots at Memphis? I thought Kentucky, Kansas, Louisville, and ect... Were big time programs? Also we have 3 kids out of Memphis this year that are top 10 in the city so don't know what you are talking about. Dedric and KJ are 2 and 3 respectively and Jeremiah Martin is number 8. The local coaches compare Martin's game to Cam Payne and say he is underrated because Mitchell High School is 1A. One of our greatest PG's in UofM history came from Mitchell and his name was Andre Turner and actually is the head coach at Mitchell now. I think Martin is a steal and a PG for the future. I hope he can redshirt and learn behind Kedren Johnson and Ricky Tarrant.

I was born and raised in Memphis. My era, when I was growing up, was Keith Lee and Dana Kirk. In fact, Keith Lee I heard is now coaching my former high school - Raleigh-Egypt. But Memphis State is a [deleted] school and it's program is a mess under Pastner. Sure, there's absolutely great talent in Memphis and many will go to Tiger High. But that alone will not win you [Deleted]. You need great coaching and recruiting outside of Memphis also - like Chicago and Arkansas specifically.

SMU is my alma mater and I want it to beat the snot out of Memphis every time we play so I can say not only is my alma mater, BY FAR, a superior school we even beat you in the only thing that you have any success in.

So, yeah, [deleted] Memphis.

SMU has been relevant on the national scene long enough to have a cup of coffee. Need to show this thing has staying power and isn't a flash in the pan. Moore, MK, LB all coming back goes a long way. JWIII transferring in w/ this year's class and a good '16 class? Even better.

Exactly. And the best way to do it is for us all to realize and start acting like we ARE big time. We ARE a big time program. [deleted] the over-rated Big12. And, [deleted] the "blue bloods" - LB mentored many of them (Calipari, Self) - and we even have one of their players on our roster now (Semi).

Our bball program is one of the best in the country. Our fball program will also be one soon. Wear your SMU gear often and proudly. Hang your flags joyfully. The day we've been praying for for decades is NOW upon us. Rejoice and lock arms!!

For all I know, we asked the kid to reclassify b/c of Sed/Shake. If so, he's well within his right to say screw you. Best call in the world for any kid wanting maximum exposure is wait till late Spring

Ojaipomy, Wow you make SMU fans look bad. All that great coaching lead SMU to a first round loss. SMU choked pretty hard this year. Also I wouldn't bring up this one bad year compared to all the other years we were in the tourney. I mean Florida and Michigan were just as bad as we were this year. Memphis was hurt by not having a PG run the team on the floor. Nobody expected Kedren to be that out of shape. Now that we have Kedren in shape and Ricky Tarrant as Sr. PGs I feel better about the flow of our offense.

You could beat us 100-0 for the next 100 years and I STILL went to SMU and you went to Tiger high. Sports is a nice, fun extra. Life is more important.
