Track/Field: 2015 NCAA Regionals

Nine student-athletes will represent SMU Thursday through Saturday at the 2015 NCAA West Regionals this week in Austin.

The top 12 finishers in each event will advance to the 2015 NCAA Championships.

In the 100m dash prelims, Stephanie Kalu ran a 11.38 to finish second in her heat and advance to the semifinals tomorrow.

Isabella Marten had a best jump of 5.99m in the long jump, and will not qualify for the NCAAs.

Marten will be back in action in the triple jump Saturday.

Stephanie Kalu posted a time of 11.42 in the 100m dash quarterfinals, and will not advance to the NCAA.

Kalu will be in the 200m prelims later tonight.

Stephanie Kalu ran a 23.68 in the 200m prelims and has advanced to the quarterfinals tomorrow.

Karoline Skatteboe did not register a time in the 3000m steeplechase. SMU reports it is due to injury.

Big day Saturday for SMU with Lucija Cvitanovic in the javelin, Rayann Chin and Tochi Nlemchi in the shot put, and Isabella Marten in the triple jump in the field events.

SMU will also be in the 4x100 relay, and Stephanie Kalu will be in the 200m dash quarterfinals in the track events as well.

Isabella Marten qualifies for the NCAA Championships in the triple jump!

Marten finished third overall with a best jump of 13.06m today.

The SMU 4x100 relay team finished 10th with a time of 44.71 and qualified for the NCAA Championships!

In the shot put, Tochi Nlemchi has a best distance of 15.54m, which falls just short of qualifying for the NCAAs.

Rayann Chin had a best throw of 13.74m.

Stephanie Kalu posts a 23.76 in the 200m quarterfinals, which will not qualify for the NCAAs.

Lucija Cvitanovic has qualified for the NCAAs in the javelin with a distance of 46.92m!

Cvitanovic finished 11th overall in the regionals.
