SMU FB and BB Pass APR Multi-Year But Not Latest Year(amended) but Football and Basketball both are below 930 in latest year
Football: 947 Multi-Year (926 Current Year) Basketball 945 Multi-Year (904 Current Year) I tried to link the search for SMU but it wont grab the search report-but this is where you input your search. I year delayed so look for 2013-2014 report. APR Multi-Year represents a four-year rolling average and are subject to fluctuation as academic performance data from the most recent year are included. http://web1.ncaa.org/maps/aprRelease.jsp TCU Football also passed despite being on the ledge due to their suspensions and players flunking out in 2 prior years TCU Football 936 multi-year (latest year 957) TCU Basketball 937 multi-year (latest year 926) Last edited by Stallion on Fri May 29, 2015 9:48 pm, edited 4 times in total.

Oh no... Shake It Off Moody
Re: SMU FB and BB Pass APR Multi-Year But Not Latest YearTeams are subject to penalties if their multi-year APR falls below 930 so we are above that standard but remember a strong score in say 2010 may roll off the 4 year Multi-year score which could drop SMU down some. You'd have to pull the numbers for all years

Re: SMU FB and BB Pass APR Multi-Year But Not Latest YearOK I think we should be all right if this is a 1 year aberration due to transfers in 2013-2014 but next years report is likely going to be decreased in Basketball (probably) by the academic problems of Markus Kennedy and Frazier (especially if they were to flunk out) as well Martin from Xavier. Even though solid scores from 2010 fall off for next years report the 2011 scores aren't too bad. I believe these are the applicable 4 years that go into Multi-Year:
Basketball: 904 (13-14) 949 (12-13) 964 (11-12) 961 (10-14) Football: 926 (13-14) 951 (12-13) 952 (11-12) 960 (10-11) btw these numbers can change I believe if former players complete their degrees within something like 4-5 years after leaving the program. Re: SMU FB and BB Pass APR Multi-Year But Not Latest YearI thought it was based on graduates and not a student's current year grades. As long as Markus graduates he should not bring the score down any should he. Don't know Frazier's future and that could hurt. The kid that did not go to class and dropped out hurt.
But am I not right on my assumption? All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: SMU FB and BB Pass APR Multi-Year But Not Latest YearI think it counts students in Good Standing-different points for example for players transferring in good standing and those not in good standing

Re: SMU FB and BB Pass APR Multi-Year But Not Latest YearFrom Official NCAA website (Capitals added)
The APR, or Academic Progress Rate, holds institutions accountable for the academic progress of their student-athletes through a team-based metric that accounts for the eligibility and retention of EACH student-athlete for EACH academic term. The APR is calculated as follows: •EACH student-athlete receiving athletically related financial aid earns one point for STAYING in school and one point for being ACADEMICALLY ELIGIBLE. •A team’s total points are divided by points possible and then multiplied by 1,000 to equal the team’s Academic Progress Rate. •In addition to a team’s current-year APR, its rolling four-year APR is also used to determine accountability. Re: SMU FB and BB Pass APR Multi-Year But Not Latest YearThat is why I did not read the response last night. Did not want to waste a "learn" late in the day.

Re: SMU FB and BB Pass APR Multi-Year But Not Latest YearSo...how would basketball be calculated for 2014-15?
From Wikipedia: Each student-athlete receiving athletically related financial aid earns one retention point for staying in school and one eligibility point for being academically eligible. A team’s total points are divided by the points possible and then multiplied by one thousand to equal the team’s Academic Progress Rate score. Example: A Division I Football Bowl Subdivision team awards the full complement of 85 grants-in-aid. If 80 student-athletes remain in school and academically eligible, three remain in school but are academically ineligible and two drop out academically ineligible, the team earns 163 of 170 possible points for that term. Divide 163 by 170 and multiply by 1,000 to determine that the team’s Academic Progress Rate for that term is 959.[8] So if we had 13 guys on scholarship, but Markus and Keith were each ineligible for a semester, Martin left at the semester, and Yanick didn't graduate, how does that get scored? 26 possible points (13 x 2), are we getting docked 4 points for the aforementioned, and thus 22/26= 846? If so, that's an awful APR for this past season. I'm probably doing it wrong, though. 2005 PonyFans.com Rookie of the Year Award Recipient
Re: SMU FB and BB Pass APR Multi-Year But Not Latest Year
I don't understand the BB APR. Last year, all of our players seemed to leave with degrees. This year, I thought that everyone but Yannick graduated. - If Frazier leaves to turn pro while eligible, I don't think he counts against the APR. - Martin, who already had a degree, shouldn't count against the APR either. Do unto others before they do unto you!!
Re: SMU FB and BB Pass APR Multi-Year But Not Latest Yearthey aren't measuring just players that leave. Current players are analyzed to determine whether they are in "good standing" too
