I think that article proves it's still a rivalry. They'll always be obsessed with us because of that rejection letter they received in the mail years ago. The inferiority complex that Fort Worth/TCU has towards Dallas and SMU will never die.

Also- it's not like they've won 10 straight or something- we've cost them two BCS bowls in the past ten years and an undefeated season in 2005. I doubt this article would've been written 2-3 years ago...that 2010 Friday night game at Ford and the 2011 game when Patterson [deleted] himself afterwards certainly generated a lot of attention in the Metroplex. Give Chad two years to get it rolling here and the intrigue will return to the rivalry.

Baylor-TCU is a rivalry we just have played them a bunch of times. At least we never chickened out and stopped playing them because we suck like their basketball coach did last year. Soon as we got Mudiay he was on the phone to postpone blaming the temporary location and we have to go to their house this year

We can come back and reverse the cycle. Just need to get the stars lined up right before the money the big boys get totally buries us.

Is there a reason you choose to ignore what the writer says in his third paragraph? For your benefit, here's what he says:

When SMU got the Death Penalty after riding a long money train of wins (The boosters bought the players that led to an impressive 15 straight pony wins over TCU), things changed in a big way for the TCU and SMU programs.

Better to be the SMU boosters that buy the players that beat TCU 15 years in a row than to be the TCU boosters that buy the players that lost to SMU 15 years in a row.

Bump.

Baylor TCU became a rivalry only after Baylor was good. When they sucked, no rivalry,.

Kinda disingenuous to imply that we kicked their rear end for a decade in a half because of cheating while they sat praying at the altar.

that was one of the funnier parts of the Pony Excess story on ESPN...while showing a clip of TCU, Dale Hansen narrates about how everybody was paying players and some teams could only mange 2-3 wins (I think he called that the "definition" of a "loser"). Wacker was not happy TCU decided to turn themselves in and give up trying to compete, but TCU's decision did help accelerate he demise of the SWC, which I think was inevitable once cable TV came into play and the big boys got tired of sharing with the little guys.
