Track/Field: 2015 NCAA Outdoor Championship

The 2015 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship starts Wednesday in Eugene, Oregon.

SMU will be represented by Lucija Cvatonivic in the javelin and Isabella Marten in the triple jump.

The 4x100m relay team from SMU of Stephanie Kalu, Shahira Ehiemua, Rachel Scruggs, and Craishia Washington also qualified.

SMU's first activities will be Thursday evening.

The 4x100 team ran a 45.13 in their preliminary heat, which unfortunately does not qualify for the finals.

Lucija Cvitanovic has a best distance of 45.04m in the javelin - second flight still to come.

I watched the men's races yesterday and some of the women's tonight. SMU is hurting not having a (elite) men's program.
I didn't see any SMU women compete tonight. I watched the races I'm most interested in and tonight those were the 1500 meters and 3000 meters steeplechase.
It's hard to believe that in the women's 3 ST North Dakota State and New Hampshire each have two runners in the final out of 12 competitors.

Isabella Marten had a best distance of 12.74m in the triple jump. She finished 14th and earned second-team All-America honors!
