Thirty posts ago he admitted he should not have compared it to JJ's classes and reemphasized the question about comparing to other schools in the conference. Congrats on winning the point he conceded 30 posts ago though.

For Clarification, I only count Division 1A offers (105) because the rest are irrelevant. I estimate that our recruits have at least 25-30 more offers if you count the others. I personally don't think military academies count-although I included them. The academies are probably up to 400 offers now each and despite what you guys think they are not all for admission to the academies-More than half the guys that "commit' to the academies are headed to their prep schools like those kids June signed from Army Prep-some of which weren't admitted to SMU from what I understand-although that might have been conduct related. The Academies hand out more offers than the Lamba Chis. They mean very little

Why the need to out recruit conference mates? Tcu is consistently nowhere near top 10 in recruiting and is a premiere big 12 team. Obviously a tongue in cheek remark, it just shouldn't be your only measuring stick.

Looks like Chad Morris (like the school in ft worthless has done for the better part of 20 years) is recruiting a bunch of fast, smart, and extremely athletic football players. If all you're looking at is Stars and conference rankings then sure, you might have a point..but you're gonna tell me for example that you don't want a receiver who is 6'2, runs what a 4.4 and has great hands because he's a 2 star with just a couple of offers? Get real and stop letting recruiting rankings think for you because all of these guys look great on tape!

I'll take a roster full of top notch athletes with a working system that the players were recruited for any day of the week. Who cares if the final class is ranked behind cincy and ucf If you can bet the mortgage on putting up 400-500 yards against them? It's a proven offense and the players are being gathered to run it. Just wait and see.

Or are you complaining that the climb from irrelevance isn't happening fast enough for ya, Lebanese4Life? Yeah these aren't the recruits Alabama goes after but it's a hell of a start to build a great base to start attracting those level of players. Sounds like you may be trying to run before you've graduated from crawling.

if SMU finds a 6-2, 195 pound superstar who runs a 10.5 and then he recommits to A&M or Baylor they do have a tendency to get upgraded real quick. 2 guys SMU was close to getting commitments from were WR Jared Atkinson and CB Charles Oliver who immediately became Top 100s as soon as they committed to Baylor and A&M. I knew they were unbelievably underrated though as soon as I watched their videos and verified their speed. We might have been hours away from getting Oliver until A&M jumped in late. We might have been in the pole position with Atkinson until Baylor recently offered.

If I recall, there is some sort of way to change an old post... can't remember what it's called.

Morris inherited a team with 111 offers on offense and 60 on defense. Take away Davis, Gresham, Sutton and Myers and the offense had 46 total offers.

The fact that people are complaining about an incomplete recruiting class that will surpass the total number of offers for players that our coach inherited is psychotic. It's not important to show how bad JJ was, it's important because it shows just how ridiculous of a recruiting hole Morris has to dig us out of. No high school relationships, no ground work laid, negative or, even worse, NO opinion of the school, and having an awful team makes recruiting like trying to swim from Cuba to Florida with no legs and half an arm.

But we're SMU, we them there got good academics and hot blonde white chicks running around everywhere. That's everyone's main concern, right? Look at our pretty brick buildings and cool IPF that we don't actually have, we should out recruit Houston, who's arguably the second or third most successful G5 program over the last decade. But we won two Hawaii Bowls, right?

They fired a coach because he went 8-5; we let some [deleted] golfer run our program into the ground, light it on fire, and then quit. If you're a kid who's being recruited, what school really seems like they care more about winning?

There is no instant gratification in this game people, were in it for the long run to build a freaking program, and win championships, not the eggp waffle bowl.

L4L you are killing us smalls!

Neither coach has a single snap under their belt yet you are complaining. I will tell you how the recruiting trail is going.

Recruit: why Houston?
Herman: we just built a new football stadium, went 8-5 last year, multiple 10 win seasons and did I mention my last stop I was the OC for the team that won the first CFP.

Recruit: why SMU?
Morris: well...we need you cause the last guy didn't recruit. We went 1-11 and were last in the FBS in almost every single category. Your dad was probably too young so ask your grandpa about the Pony Express...just ask him...he'll know.

Yet Morris is BARELY being outpaced by the "conference comparison". That is truly a miracle on mockingbird

SMU will have one of the top 3 G5 recruiting classes in the country and likely a Top 50-55 overall class. But lets whine. The ponyfans BWS never ceases to amaze.

Hey not quite grandpa yet. 17 year old recruit was born in 98. 25 year old dad would be born in 73. 7 to 12 years old during glory years to DP. Might remember it!

top 3 G5 would be great, but let's hope we're top 3 in conference first.
