OK you're wrong both were left in last minute scrambles for QBs-remember Hicks signed right before the December early signing deadline Pony Pride reported both offers http://ponyfans.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=76567

It is a well know fact to anyone who follows recruiting that he had those offers. His dad even talked about how shell shocked they were to talk to Harbaugh This is why we Scout our Rivals. So we know things like how Joshua Shelmire has Memphis and Northwestern offers as well, even though they aren't listed anywhere.

The WDNWHA Committee was aware of the offers and they were very instrumental in our decision to want him anyway.

Yeah I find it odd that two of the most prominent programs in the country offered a player at the most important position on the field and no seemingly none of their sites or blogs picked up on it. Maybe that had to do with the early signing period time crunch though

Here's is why Florida got involved. QB is the first position to fill up. When someone decommits late there are very few quality QB recruits available http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2291 ... rontrunner

So, John O'Korn (UH backup) is now at Michigan....in place of Hicks? Harbaugh loaded up with something like seven QBs. I doubt they're all on scholarship but he brought in a bunch like Gentry from New Mexico (former UT commit). U-M is a great place and JH is a great coach, but he's in a good spot to grab the starting spot. Just like he could have at Houston.

....and these offers/no-offers helped him beat out Davis already, as many expected. (or not)

Our boards or UF/Michigan boards? Getting info from Hicks' coach or an SMU coaching staff member is different than getting it from a source at one of the other schools. It doesn't really matter, I think hicks has all the tools to be a very effective QB in Chad's system. I just find it somewhat hard to believe that he committed to SMU without taking a visit and committable offers from Michigan and Florida also on the table.

After listening to Harbaugh talk to Collin Cowheard, anyone would be shocked after speaking to that nutjob.
