OK, so I never paid attention to recruiting before, since there wasn't much to follow.
And I was sure as heck not recruited out of high school.
So, how does this work as the class fills up? There are certainly offers out now that SMU would be unlikely to honor (probably at TE?) How do they let kids know that the spot has been filled, while not burning a bridge permanently? There's could easily be some last minute shuffling with de-commits and we may need some replacements (and we certainly don't want to turn off coaches, either)
Just curious, as I've never experienced (even as an observer) this process.
With a filling class, how does this work?

Coaching staff is very honest with the kids from day 1. They tell them where they stand, where they are on the board, and if their offers are commitable or not. This staff doesn't make promises they can't keep. And we will never ever have to worry about Chad & co falling out of favor with the HS coaches.
Recruiting is a rat race, but most parties know what they are getting into.

And this staff doesn't forget to mail offers out...
