Stop being homers and trying to figure out the great conspiracy theory. Those Rivals 2 stars are more accurate than the Scout & 247 3 stars.

I see you're still upset that you were left out last year.....and deservedly so! Buckeyes would have rolled your *sses.

Unfortunately for your frawggies, they peaked last year. This sounds about right:

Most overrated: TCU

The Horned Frogs are loaded on offense and should have a solid season, but their current status as the clear favorites in the Big 12 is overstated. It’s a mix of the inevitable bowl bump that Oklahoma got before last season and simply not realizing how lucky TCU was in 2014. No team had better turnover luck than the Horned Frogs, who gained an average of 6.34 points per game from their good fortune. That’s larger than their margin of victory against Oklahoma, West Virginia and Kansas (though Kansas was the one game in which TCU had poor turnover luck, recovering zero of the four fumbles and intercepting only one of their eight passes defended). The Horned Frogs also had great luck with injuries last year as running B.J. Catalon suffered the only major injury and Aaron Green exploded in his absence.

As for this year’s squad, the offense should be exceptional behind 10 returning starters, including Heisman candidate quarterback Trevone Boykin. But the defense has some major concerns without Chucky Hunter (9.5 tackles for loss and three sacks last year) at defensive tackle; Paul Dawson and Marcus Mallet (187 combined tackles, 31.5 of them for loss) at linebacker; and Chris Hackett, Kevin White and Sam Carter (13 combined interceptions) in the secondary. Defensive coordinator [deleted] Bumpas also retired after last season. TCU will still be a top team in the conference and benefits from playing most of its tough games late in the season and drawing Baylor at home, but with a regression to average luck and some setbacks on defense, the Horned Frogs will struggle to match last year’s incredible success.

Pretty simple, it's an outlier stat that quickly reverts back to the mean. Just like the 2012/13 SMU squad.

wow, so much Texas bias up in here.

you honestly think that if a Texas kid and a Florida kid are rated evenly by Rivals that the TX kid player would be better? give me a break!!

how about throwing up some facts that prove how TX produces the best talent instead of simply claiming it

Frogs are even 14 pt favorites at #25 Minnesota to start the year. It was a good first quarter at Ford Stadium last year.

Another RIVALS 3 star DL for Houston, Braylon Jones. #43 DT, #82 in TX

Need to finish this class with a stud interior DT of our own, seriously lacking there.

If Houston keeps doing this over the next few classes they will be tough to catch. With that said I think our coaches are doing the best they can in the situation the are in at the present.

I think he is just telling it like it is. He is not saying we have a bad class or anything like that. Just looking at where we have to go to get close to the top of the conference.

Houston's recruiting success makes u wonder whether we made the right decision between Morris and Herman. I like Morris so don't jump all over me, but just a Q

The sad reality is Houston is a far more attractive destination right now than SMU given equivalent coaches. Hard to say what would happen if roles were reversed. Of course coach hiring track record says they are far more likely to hire a top coach than us.
Anyway, I don't think we can even begin to consider that question without playing through at least 1 season.

We have a top rated assistant who has deep ties not only to the state but to the region, who has recruited his [deleted] off in his first 8 months with his young assistants to cobble together a team that looks to be greater than the sum of its individual parts, and we get this crap? Houston got major pub and exposure last year with their bowl win, and with Herman being the talk of that game then winning the national championship with OSU as the coordinator for that QB explosion. They have a relatively solid team and are in a major talent market. They should be killing it on the recruiting trail in Houston, and they are doing that. He is doing great, Morris is doing great, and we will see how the programs progress and how much growth we experience in the first year. Let's at least play a few meaningful games before even posing the Herman v. Morris question.

Plus, I still see Morris staying put much longer than Herman. He has local ties, and more importantly, his wife seems to want to be here.
