8/22 Scrimmage

Deon Green, the DT transfer from South Carolina, looked pretty good and got in the backfield a couple times. He'll be a solid contributor if he stays healthy IMO

Awesome! If he is a contributor that is a bonus that could make the dline a strength this season.

Green was running with the first team defense and had a couple of nice plays. He's going to be a major contributor up front.

That number means a lot in case you may not be aware. A lot of people care about that number and it should be retired.

Was he starting with Wood? If he is starting over Gentry, that will be huge because Gentry was really good in the spring and it is an indication of just how good Green is. Or did Wood move back outside during practice?

The first team never hit the field if I recall correctly...only 2nd and 3rd teams with some starters sprinkled in.

I was under the impression his injury was career ending, has it been downgraded?

My understanding is the Wood was not participating in the scrimmage, nor was Davis. No injury issue, just trying to figure out where other guys fit in.
Gaines has no great injury issue I don't think, you may be thinking of Gresham.
