Morris vs Strong

Postby MT_Mustang » Sat Sep 05, 2015 8:13 pm

Morris had two months to recruit for a team with the ultimate bare cupboard. And is able to produce a decent offense. UT? Still waiting to produce anything resembling a competitive offense.

Strong made a play for Morris when he took the Texas job but Clemson refused to release him unless Texas paid his contract off. Texas said no.

Not that surprising, Strong didn't have a decent offense at Louisville until his 3rd season (and fans still though it was too conservative given the talent on hand).

How great is this thread not being absolutely ludicrous on September 5, 2015.

Texas may want to get a new offensive coordinator/recruiter...I know of a polynesian tiki offensive guru that is available?

As a Texas Ex, I find it shocking that Strong adopted June Jones' "no blocking " strategy. That OL is a horror show.

Texas should have hired Briles when they had the chance. I hope they don't wave 5 million at our coach.

Both sides of the line got destroyed. Anytime your coach says a true frosh OL is the best blocker on the team or the best anything, you are in a lot of trouble.

Strong will be "encouraged" to make some staff changes after the season.

I think we could match any salary offer. But CM wants to win the big one and if we aren't in position to do that he would take a chance at it.

He may not be around to make any changes at the end of the season.
