As much as dislike the self-fulfilling martydom of the [deleted] band on this board, I would be open to a discussion of a movement AFTER this season. Prefer the DJ songs to get the crowd pumped up and ultimately that's what I care about. Not the jazzy hits of the 60s or some corpse telling me the band played at the jail in 1940 or whatever. Save it.

Thankfully its not up to you. The best thing about college football (and I graduated in 2005 so I probably am not that much older than you) is the band and everything else that goes with COLLEGE football. The other music is great and this year was light-years better than years past. A good combination is key.

And no, I was not part of the band. I have zero musical talent.

One simple fix this year might be to switch the band and students - which would move them two sections into the bowl. More sound would be captured in the "bowl" that way.

In section 206. I never heard the band. Students don't appear to be as loud but that might change when there are only 15k fans at the games.

How about they just MIC the band into the stadium's PA like every other school does and not worry about moving it?????

During the halftime show the band did avoid Barbara Ann and some other similar chestnuts so I applaud the forward thinking. And I don't know why it's relevant, but I have a few years on you. And maybe a little more input over the years on these type of things than you suggest. But that was ages ago.

tickets have already been issued but for most games I would support keeping them in the same general area but moving the band and the students over to better sections because otherwise there are going to be a lot of empty seats. But I'd kind like to see if the students like being near the open endzone this year. What exactly does that student tent have? Is it a Bring the Boulevard to Ford Concept? They may be onto something having an informal social gathering area. Let's see how this plays out. I don't see how you move them this year when seats have already been purchased. It should be pointed out that the private schools that have been most successful with student attendance-TCU and Baylor give their students prime seating in the middle of the sideline grandstands. Both TCU and Baylor student sections are great seats in their new stadiums

The tent has been discussed for a long time down there. Glad to see it finally put in place. Original idea was for cooling fans/ misters, a bar for of age kids, tv's with other games around the country and generally all other ideas that will keep them in place as much as possible. Looks to me that it should be discussed as something permanent and cantilevered out over the grass to get closer to the field.

Would move band to north edge of student section so that they are more "in the bowl" . If done correctly mic'ing them is a good idea.

Were TVs set up over there on Friday Nite? I guess there weren't any other games anyway. The idea is good. We need some innovative outside the box ideas

Now where is the Stallion/Pony94 Memorial Hot Tub and Sunbathing Pavilion

sorority only sand volleyball tournament in the end zone next to scoreboard. That way you can claim to be checking scores when ogling. That would be good for 4,000 new fans.

Mic the band and leave them by the students. If they are already mic'd turn up the volume. I don't know if this is why they wanted to move but the new student section gets shade much earlier than the old area - made a big difference Friday.
