Marshall looks pretty good. I always thought they were a good conference mate. They have good support for their football program

We will start seeing these types of neutral-site showcase games become less frequent as the costs of putting them together begins to outweigh the revenue that can be earned from fans that increasingly have better options for watching at home.
Disagree. I think it will become more frequent as schools try to capitalize on marquee matchups in non-conference. Rest assured when Texas and A&M meet again it will not be in a bowl and it won't be at their home stadiums.

I agree that schools will try to capitalize on building marquee matchups, but IMO the model that will prevail is the home-and-home model. These games need season ticket holders and no huge logistical costs or else they will price out spectators

I agree but consider Aggys are paying their 1,000-2,000 seat licenses then they lose a home game for a pay day neutral site game and have to fork over another $250 for good seats for a neutral site game. A&M is accessing a new, additional revenue stream there

I'd guess A&M got an appearance fee (perhaps based on ticket sales) and a third party got the revenue and paid the associated costs. My theory is that over time, as appearance fees and logistical costs rise and consumer willingness to pay falls, these third parties will get squeezed out and schools will find it more lucrative to play an additional home game due to larger capacities and greater control of ancillary revenue. Arkansas doesn't play much in Little Rock anymore, Ole Miss doesn't play much in Jackson anymore, and the Iron Bowl isn't in Birmingham anymore. These showcase games are exceptions that will eventually converge to the trend.
