TempleI posted awhile back that Temple will eventually be a front runner for a P5 spot. I said if they can ever figure out football, they'll be golden being in a major market that is passionate about sports. Well, it looks like they have found the guy to lead the football program in Matt Rhule. Similar to SMU with CM, Rhule is PA guy and he's impressive. He was born in State College and went to Penn St as walk-on LB. He is young (40), energetic and has a plan. Sound familiar?
If you saw the game yesterday it is obvious he is recruiting bigger and faster athletes to Temple. Temple looked like the P5 school. We might not be the only sleeping giant in the AAC. Last edited by LA_Mustang on Sun Sep 06, 2015 2:53 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Re: TempleTemple has gotten good at hiring football coaches. If Rhule keeps this up he'll be headed to the P5 like Al Golden and Steve Addazio.

Re: TempleI'm sure many Temple people will be concerned he's going to bolt with success. He's a Penn St guy and that might be his dream job but he's been at Temple since 2006 as an assistant, except for 2012 when he went to the NY Giants.

Re: TempleHe not only recruited bigger faster players but they are also pretty athletic.

Re: TempleTheir defense was awesome. If it's true, defenses win championships, I'd say they won't be beaten in the AAC.
Re: Temple10 sacks tho
Re: TempleWhat if all the sleeping giants in the AAC get better and stick together? Maybe the AAC could become a P6 if they stick together and get better? Start winning those damn access bowls !
Re: Temple
Agreed!!!
Re: TempleKeep this up, Temple might even get that stadium they have been talking about!
Looking forward to going into work on Tuesday here in Philly to see all of the Temple folks taunting the PSU guys. Anything that ruins a PSU fan's day (because like UT and A&M and pretty much every SEC team, most of their fans have no relation to the school outside of being from the state) is a good thing.
Re: Temple
I was thinking the same thing. Let's build this thing and enjoy it while it lasts. Maybe by time they go to 8 team playoff, our conference will earn wildcard entry... Not that I really give a crap about the playoff, I just want to watch some kickass football at SMU. Beat the hell out of anybody!
Re: TempleCoach Morris said that if we would have gone undefeated that we would be in the playoffs. So since he cares about he playoffs so do I.

Re: TempleKudo's to Temple for the win but they also sold out 69,000 seats for the game. Now that's a big deal in Phili.
Re: Temple
How many were wearing cherry red? SMU could sell quite a few against UT at JerryWorld, but ...
Re: TempleBeen saying all offseason that Temple was going to be a tough team to beat this year. Looks like they started out on the right track.
