nts attendance predictionsModerators: PonyPride, SmooPower Re: nts attendance predictionsFor the casual fan, we are going up against MSU vs Oregon, which is probably the biggest game of the OOC.
Re: nts attendance predictionsOf course the biggest mystery is where will they put the angry green band.

Re: nts attendance predictions
Whether they were technically alive or not in 1995, I would presume that very few of our current undergrads have any memory of the SWC. Perhaps a few more of the grad students, but really you would need to have been born in the 1980s to remember the SWC. I think most of what the current crop of SMU students knows about the SWC was learned watching the 30 for 30. . . and perhaps listening to boring old farts pine for the "good ole' days". Just to set the background, I was born in 1972. So I remember the SWC, but I wasn't really tuned in until after the DP. What I remember about the SWC is mostly the last few years when it was running on fumes and needed to die.
Re: nts attendance predictionsWith the Forecast 4Pack and good weather, we may see a few hundred more. I do like that the ticket office/marketing dept is trying to be creative to put butts in seats.
Re: nts attendance predictionsHeard from a lot of alum friends that didn't care to come to games are now hurrying up and buying tickets after that first baylor game showed them "this is not last years team that put a scare on the big12 champ". Lots of excitement building. I think it will be around 26k fans with 4-5k being NTSU
Re: nts attendance predictionsAnd we could see the student section full again to watch us get our first w
Re: nts attendance predictionsAll due respect, but you guys are way off on UNT attendance projections. Our AD has projected 10-15K UNT fans when you include walk-up etc. We are bringing our entire band (it's big), cheerleaders, dance team, spirit groups... there are over 30 busses of students who have paid tickets coming.
I don't know if we hit 15K but I would not be surprised to see near that especially with the good weather. SMU may be Dallas' team but I can promise you we have a lot of alums and fans in Dallas who will come to this game but not drive to Denton. So if SMU holds their end of the bargain (they did not show to the game in Denton last year; in fact it was embarrassing) it should be a great crowd. Here's hoping for a good, injury free game! GMG!
Re: nts attendance predictionsEmbarrassing for who?
Re: nts attendance predictions
I guess that settles it since projections are always accurate. They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

Re: nts attendance predictions
Yep. The #4 team in the country couldn't bring anywhere close to 10k but some clowns in Denton will beat that. Bringing down projection to 3k.
Re: nts attendance predictionsntsu message board predicts they will outnumber us 2-1.

Re: nts attendance predictions
Really Stallion? How many did SMU bring then? We were not outnumbered by Baylor and we will not be outnumbered by north texas state.
Re: nts attendance predictionsyou can start by simple mathematics
split the field in half. There are approximately 16,000 seats in half the stadium. SMU had about 2,500 in its student section. The vast majority of the rest of the fans in the remaining part of the east side of the stadium were Baylor fans and they had plenty sitting in SMU sections too. There were about 30 sitting my Section 203 plus there were more in the end zone. Easily 10,000-12,000 Baylor fans. You actually claiming that Baylor didn't have 1/3rd of the fans? Another way you could tell is that the Baylor sections in the Stadium arrived before kickoff. The SMU student section and season ticket sections were late "With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
