There are a few thousand seats in the club/suites so your math may be a little off.

meangreenfan wrote:All due respect, but you guys are way off on UNT attendance projections. Our AD has projected 10-15K UNT fans when you include walk-up etc. We are bringing our entire band (it's big), cheerleaders, dance team, spirit groups... there are over 30 busses of students who have paid tickets coming.
I don't know if we hit 15K but I would not be surprised to see near that especially with the good weather. SMU may be Dallas' team but I can promise you we have a lot of alums and fans in Dallas who will come to this game but not drive to Denton. So if SMU holds their end of the bargain (they did not show to the game in Denton last year; in fact it was embarrassing) it should be a great crowd.
Here's hoping for a good, injury free game! GMG!
The only thing embarrassing is that we had to spend more than five minutes in Denton. Most people involved with SMU have never been to or even heard of Denton, Texas.
Back off Warchild seriously.

I think Denton is a great town - great bars and good music.

Denton is great. If you've never been anywhere else.

I've never known someone who sh*ts on more places and schools than you. I'd be curious to know what qualifies as good in your opinion??

Easy hoss. My wife is a UNT grad and she acknowledges that it is a dumpster fire school and Denton sucks.
There are plenty of great schools/places. UNT and Denton are not in the mix for me. Give me San Diego, Boston, Seattle, Portland, Dallas, Austin, New Orleans, Phoenix, San Francisco, and D.C. any day of the week.
See how cool it is to have differing opinions?

That is great and all but why do you have to degrade the poster from UNT who had a reasonable post by saying it was embarrassing to be in Denton?
Re: nts attendance predictions
Close to 30,000 is my guess. A whole day to get ready and Boulevard. Cool weather in the 80's, an opportunity for NT fans to relive one of their great victories in the past few years and to parade around with their heads held high for a little longer, a chance for the ponies to show some pride and do the same to them as they did to us last year with an exciting offensive show which we thought we were getting with June 7 years ago but found the guru was past his prime....or you can watch SFA and tcu, or rice and ut or maybe lamar and ags! This is the game to see so show some pride and come on down and experience one of the great things about college football....GAMEDAY.
Re: nts attendance predictions
Most people haven't heard of University Park either. Most of the towns you listed are great cities but not college football towns and Austin is getting to be less and less a football town compared to the good ole days.

notice that the visiting team tickets weren't sent back to home team several weeks before the game like we've been seeing lately. Never understood that

Re: nts attendance predictions
I would be just fine with NTSU bringing 10,000 plus.
And I love Denton too.

At $40 a pop that's nice
Re: nts attendance predictions
If you look at the Ticketmaster ticket available list and assume that sections 120-128 and 219-228 are sold to UNT fans then they have purchased about 8,000 tickets. Ticket office on campus says they sold 400 today. After updates who knows with 2 days and walk ups left. I say they buy 9,000 minimum but your guess is good as mine.

Re: nts attendance predictions
I was expecting anywhere from 5-8k UNT fans but if they bring more, that's great. We haven't shown that we can fill Ford with our own fans so that is a big part of why I like playing UNT. I assume they will have a strong turnout because they have so many DFW area alumni and the fact they are coming off that blowout win last year...gives them cause for optimism coming into this game and that is something they have lacked in previous visits to SMU. Hopefully the folks wearing green will be the ones leaving Ford early in the 4th quarter this week
