Everyone has their own thoughts. I am more of a basic uniform guy. I do not mind a tricked up uni for some special game, but I prefer what we had last Friday as the go to uniform.

Those are exactly my thoughts. SMU had one of the most recognizable and universally praised uniforms during the late 80s. Last night was about as close as we have come to duplicating the that uniform. Its a classy look that really jumps off your screen with HD, and its memorable which helps as we rebuild the brand. I don't mind a special occasion uniform, or a tweak here or there, but don't screw up a good thing. I cringe thinking about the "creative" changes during the last couple of decades.

The uniforms are good to the SMU fan but not necessarily to the recruits. It looks better than the June Jones unis which looked like 1960 junior high uniforms. Be while this satisfies the older conservative inner SMU fan you can have a cooler more modern alternative for recruiting. I think that is what the staff will do. Nothing wrong with that. PakiMustang_91 there is nothing wring with your opinion.

SMU looked pretty good in their game against Baylor (and if they were as deep as the 2014-2015 Golden State Warriors, they might’ve pulled off the upset), but they seriously need to sort out their number inconsistencies (#63 is among others not pictured that use a different block font than the others on the team).

I get that most people here like the traditional look and all but our uniforms don't look that good. I understand keeping it simple but at least put a stripe on the shoulder sleeve or something. Nobody is saying go all Oregon. Also the font is horrible and the material looks like practice jersey quality. I prefer the red jerseys but also like the blue ones and you can alternate with that. Like it or not this is what appeals to the recruits these days.

I would rather listen to the story of the pitch from Little Rock to Dallas and back than see those stripes on the shoulders again.
