We lost to 2 good teams and beat a bad team

Postby Rebel10 » Sun Sep 13, 2015 8:36 am

We lost to a good team in Baylor and beat and bad team in North Texas. Glad we won a game that we were suppose to win. Kudos to the coaching staff. Since we have played a good team and a bad team I think it would be good to see how we do against a middle of the road team. Right now I see ECU as a middle of the road team. It will be good to see how we do against them. In the mean time let's take it to TCU.

I think SMU beats ECU...their performance vs Towson was not impressive and they don't have a QB. We do.

I'm not sure it's important to cheapen the win by saying we beat a bad team. The change from last year to this year has been fantastic. Young guys make mistakes, but I was never once worried during the game that SMU wouldn't win.

Not trying to cheapen the win but are you saying North Texas is a good team or a middle of the road team? Maybe they just had a bad 1st game but unless they get their Qb situation straighten out I do not see them winning very many games this year. You may differ with me on that. Last year we did not win games that we were suppose to win this year we are starting out by doing so. I think that shows improvement.

I think ECU is a good team. That game will definitely be the measuring stick. If we beat them, I can change my season prediction to 6 wins (I'm still sitting on 4). I think we beat JMU, Tulane, and one other one (possibly Navy because we'll outscore them). Personally, I'm not sold on Memphis being any good (one good year last when they had some studs on the DL) but I'm biased having grown up in Memphis - they were always dog [deleted].

UNT is god awful. ECU will be a good measuring stick to see where the team is.

Just beat JMU. SMU is a brand new team.

You may be right about their team, not really challenging the accuracy of your assessment. We just came off a one win season. UNT raw dogged us last year. First year coach. We are playing mostly young guys. Just soak up the win.

I don't think NTSU is that bad. They play real hard defense and can run the ball down field. Then again, not having a D1 makes them one dimensional. They could bowl with their CUSA schedule.

I agree with your prediction. As for Memphis, I believe they are better than we think. Kansas is probably the worst P5 football team in the country but Memphis beat them by 32 in Lawrence. That's still impressive.

Memphis, Houston and Temple are all the real deal.

We beat a bad team, but plenty of teams that turn the ball over and don't score inside the 5 can lose to a bad team.

i'm sticking to 4 wins. i think we beat Tulsa along with JM and Tulane. Navy away is very tough. Outside shot at ECU.

By the way - that would be a wildly successful year in Morris first year.

Not sure I would read too much into the score in Lawrence. KU is starting and playing a good number of walk-ons, and Beaty is preparing the young guys for 2016-2017 by really pushing the hurry up. The KU D was dead tired (which is why Memphis really pushed ahead late). Memphis is a good team, but I wouldn't read too much into the score. KU just has zero depth.

what do you think SMU did last nite. SMU was playing 2nd stringers-heck I saw some third stringers playing in important series last nite. We played 20 Freshman/Newcomers last week-we played them MORE last nite.
