Re: John Jay players accuse ref of racism
Considering every news story and discussion listed racial slurs as one of a few reasons their actions may be consider less heinous it is not surprising they would whip out that accusation

Naturally. Just putting it up for anyone who wanted to read the article

While racist conduct might mean consequences for the ref, it wouldn't (even if true) mitigate their conduct.vielsiehorsepower wrote:http://espn.go.com/espn/otl/story/_/id/13646202/players-claim-racial-slur-used-referee-texas-football-viral-video-case
There is a right way to deal with racism. Violence isn't it.

Yes but it does make assaulting a ref in a game slightly more agreeable. Couch em is right..this is the best way they can save face.

They can claim whatever they want, but there is something seriously wrong with that school. Del Rio High School just played there and had stuff stolen from their locker room: http://news4sanantonio.com/m/news/featu ... fXPwZeNA4Q
Not saying the two are necessarily related, but it shows some pretty serious discipline issues with the school in general.

yeah - this smells like a search for any kind of excuse. Obviously don't know for sure, but you better be telling the truth before you try to ruin this guys life.

Sticks and stones....

As a Mexican-American, I can tell you that I never assaulted anyone over racist comments made to me. If I had, Huntville would be my home.vielsiehorsepower wrote:Digetydog wrote:While racist conduct might mean consequences for the ref, it wouldn't (even if true) mitigate their conduct.vielsiehorsepower wrote:http://espn.go.com/espn/otl/story/_/id/13646202/players-claim-racial-slur-used-referee-texas-football-viral-video-case

This is not a surprise. This is what some of their teammates were saying after the game
