The AAC is going to have to clearly establish itself as the best non-P5 conference before it happens. It will take a couple of years. But I think if it does happen, it could become the P6.
Actually if that happens then the P5 will just take the most valuable schools and leave the conference for dead rather than legitimize the entire conference.

Then SMU needs to be the dominant team in that pack so that when that happens there is no doubt on who they take, just as it happened with the purple toads to the west.

I could see it being at least as good as what BYU makes per school and possibly more if the conference keeps trending upwards.
I understand why you might Feel that way. The thing is, is that BYU has the Horse's to get into a Power conference, basically the Big 12, so they don't need the AAC. The Mustangs just need to keep improving and hope that the Florida schools don't jump ahead of us Stangs.
SMU (hopefully in Blue jerseys) needs to be a Force in the AAC going forward.

I'm not really someone that feels the horsepower the way you do...nor do believe the Big 12 is the home for the mustangs. And the floridian schools have no chance against the stangs.
And SMU's Blue uniforms aren't really what are going to make us a force in the AAC just because. Do your homework first.
