SMU2B12!!!
Let's beat down the 3,000 that are actually going to that game.... man you tire me with this parallel universe where SMU is the only school that cannot grow its fanbase in college football.( And I do respect you as a poster otherwise before you personally attack me..)
Well, it is kind of dumb that we make fun of UNT for overstating the number of their fans that came to our game (and making fun of them calling us a rival) when we have a much smaller number going to TCU and they really are our rival.
Although, hopefully, once we start to compete more people will go. I assume the game in 2017 back in Fort Worth will be better attended.
225,000 alumni in DFW for NTSU 40,000 alumni in DFW for SMU
Also, the program was the worst in the country last year. It is going to take time to get people genuinely excited and hopeful that we can be competitive against one of the best teams in the nation at TCU. Most of the folks I know don't want to go there to watch us get drilled. I think we'll have a much better showing of SMU fans in 2017 after we've made some progress on the field.

Don't know why you FeelThe need to get mad at Stallion for being right. Our fan base is just lacking in Horse Power right now because of the past few crappy years.

we don't know the full story but go ahead and pile on like you always do. You know the TCU season ticket numbers I am sure w/out a doubt.

Oh I agree with you, that's why I'm not going. I don't want to be in their stadium with their fans and that stupid horn when things start to go downhill. If I had faith we could keep it within a touchdown or two (or win) I would go. Maybe that makes me a bad fan, but that sounds miserable. Having said that, I devoutly hope they prove me wrong and compete and win.
However, it's stupid that we are STILL talking about UNT three days after the game that we won. Especially when we have TCU coming up. Does SMU have an official watch bar anymore? Still Barley? And yes, I get it that it's probably not a great idea for SMU to have a watch party for a game 45 minutes away.
Tar and feather me publicly. I've gone to FW every time we've played them since I was in school in the mid 2000s. But I can't do it this year and none of my buddies who I have season tix with have any interest either. Stuck at the top of the stadium watching a beat down isn't my idea of a good time. I know. I'm a horrible fair weather fan. SHAME. SHAME.

I think this is the consensus of most SMU fans. The Baylor beat down a few years ago with June was the one of the worts.
I haven't decided if I'm going or not. On one hand the team deserves us to have a good showing at an away game. On the other, not sure I want to spend any time in FW and spend a bunch of money to watch us get drilled.
Gotta love someone who rips a fanbase that has seen less success than virtually every major program in college football over the last 30 years coming off a ONE WIN season playing against a team that might play for a national title.
Now why hasn't one our billionaires spent 170 Million to build us an Indoor Practice Facility???
Its ALL Turner's fault-no commitment
Geez-SMU fans are Minor League
A lot of talk but when it gets right down to it-they really don't care too much about College Football
Dallas is a bandwagon town, and always has been. The Mavricks pulled nobody at Reunion when they were horrible. That is the way it is. There are other things to do in town than there are in Lubbock.
Besides, didn't we sell out our allotment, but we haven't sold out the "extra" seats that were provided to us by TCU?

Any word what the student turnout is supposed to look like? I checked the attendee list for the Mustang Club tailgate yesterday and it maybe had 15-20 people on it...
