Re: Official: SMU vs. TCU Thread
I guess we will all just have to wait to see if winning cures everything because I do think coach Morris will win here. I'm with Stallion on being concerned, though, because I lived in Dallas and witnessed how poor our support was for a top 10 football program in the early 80's. We had to give tickets away for people to come watch one of the most exciting teams in the country. I don't know how we attract Dallas area fans to become loyal SMU fans because unless the demographics of our student population changes, I'm not convinced we can achieve the kind of "organic growth" necessary to elevate the program again. I do believe the 1500 will support us in Ft Worth and I thank them for their loyalty to SMU football.

Complete and utter beat downs on the road over the past 10 aren't limited to top 25 teams. I will pass on going to TCU this year after going in 2011 (one of the best days I've ever had as an SMU fan) and 2013 (not fun), but I have also been to multiple road games over the past 10 years at Houston (2009), Rice (2006), Tulsa (2011), UNT (2006), even Navy in 2008 and witnessed some stupendously bad football. While I understand the idea that this lack of rabid, loyal fan support could keep us out of P5 consideration, I don't necessarily blame our fans. I just hope Morris and the staff don't lose patience with the fan base like June did in 2011.
James Madison - should be a good SMU crowd with Homecoming and Centennial celebrations. 20-25K
ECU - smaller crowd, could be an early kickoff too. 15K.
Tulsa - Family Weekend but also Halloween. If the athletic dept were smart they would do some sort of trick or treating event at the game for families. 20K.
Temple - Friday night, lesser known opponent. 10-15K.
Tulane - 10-15K.

Classic thread
He mentions how terrible SMU fans are, and everyone even turns on their beloved Stallion!
In 3-4 years when Morris and Brown are gone....and they will BOTH certainly be gone.....the bottom falls out quickly.
Enjoy it while it lasts. Better get to EVERY one of those road games as well before it's all over.
P5 invite?

edit: just bought from TCU ticket office. TCU folks are buying up our extras we had in 413. Our ticket office said we sold out of ours last week so don't know the story here...
Believe the main SMU section is 216 and then SMU also received some seats in 411-413 in the upper deck.
I was told 226.
226 is correct

YES! I've been wondering where you have been. The nice thing is that in 3-4 years YOU will be gone. Congrats on Toledo this weekend though.

I fear your attendance projections are accurate but can only hope you have underestimated the support this team will get this year.

it will be nice when you are gone too!!

Stallion really enjoys to rehash the same thing, I guess it makes him feel good.
Not sure Morris can do much more than what he is doing, we can't wait around for wins.

The dude goes to Cowboys Red River. If that's not reason enough to ignore him I give up. There isn't a bigger haven for mediocre to bad trim in all of DFW that isn't BYOB or fully nude.
Back off Warchild seriously.
